The APEX 11936 is a round file designed for deburring, enlarging, and finishing round or curved openings in metal, wood, and similar materials. It features a single-cut, second-cut pattern that removes material at a moderate rate while leaving a smoother surface finish than a bastard-cut file. The round cross-section measures 0.312 inches in diameter and tapers slightly toward the point, making it practical for working inside pipe ends, conduit knockouts, and close-tolerance curved slots. At 8 inches in file length, it suits bench work and field service tasks equally well. The hard-stamped marking style keeps the part identification legible through normal shop use.
This file is suited for trade professionals who need to dress pipe ends, clean up drilled or punched holes, smooth weld slag in tight curved areas, or fit tubing and fittings during plumbing, HVAC, or electrical rough-in work. It is equally at home in a fabrication shop or a service van. The tapered profile gives access to progressively tighter bores as work proceeds, allowing fine control over material removal.
Designed as a general-purpose round file for use across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and light fabrication applications where a second-cut single-cut round profile is required.
A licensed tradesperson or experienced technician should ensure a proper handle is fitted to the tang before use, as operating a file without a handle creates a puncture hazard. Secure the workpiece in a vise or clamp before filing to maintain control and produce consistent results. Always wear appropriate eye protection when filing metal. Do not use a file as a pry bar or striking tool, as the hardened steel is brittle and may fracture.
