The ANVIL 390171098 is a FIG 7045 Clamp-T branch outlet fitting designed to add a threaded service tap to an existing pipe run without cutting or welding. The outlet accepts a 2-1/2 inch run pipe and delivers a 1-1/4 inch female NPT branch connection. The body is ductile iron for durability under mechanical stress, and the exterior carries a rust-inhibiting orange paint finish to resist corrosion during storage and in service. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in fire protection, industrial, and mechanical piping systems where a quick, bolted branch connection is needed.
This Clamp-T fitting is used on 2-1/2 inch schedule pipe in commercial and industrial applications. It is well suited for fire sprinkler branch lines, HVAC hydronic distribution, and general mechanical piping where adding a branch outlet to an existing line is required. The FNPT outlet threads directly to standard pipe nipples, valves, or sprinkler heads without adapters. No hot work or pipe threading of the main is required, making it practical for retrofit and service work in occupied facilities.
Designed as an OEM-style saddle branch outlet for use on 2-1/2 inch schedule pipe in fire protection, HVAC hydronic, and industrial mechanical piping systems requiring a 1-1/4 inch FNPT branch tap.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with NFPA 13 for fire protection systems or applicable mechanical codes for hydronic and process piping. Depressurize and isolate the pipe section before installing the clamp body. Torque the clamp bolts evenly in a cross pattern following the fitting manufacturer's published specification sheet, which should be consulted prior to installation. Verify thread engagement on the FNPT outlet connection and pressure-test the assembly per the authority having jurisdiction before returning the system to service.
