The ANVIL 390018125 is a grooved reducing tee fitting manufactured from ductile iron and finished in an orange painted coating. It connects grooved pipe runs in a reducing configuration, allowing a 4-inch branch off a 6-inch main. The fitting is cast to ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12 ductile iron specifications and uses a grooved x grooved x grooved end connection on all three ports. The orange painted finish provides baseline corrosion resistance for interior and covered installations. This is a mechanical fitting installed by pipefitters and fire protection contractors working in sprinkler, HVAC, and process piping systems. All three connections are compatible with standard grooved coupling systems.
This reducing tee is suited for a wide range of commercial and industrial piping applications including fire protection sprinkler systems, plumbing, mechanical HVAC distribution, industrial process piping, mining, oil, and gas systems. The grooved end connections allow fast, tool-minimal assembly and disassembly compared to threaded or flanged alternatives. It is commonly installed at branch take-offs where a 4-inch lateral must be tapped from a 6-inch main line. The fitting carries FM, LPCB, UL, ULC, and VDS listings, making it acceptable on listed fire protection systems in a variety of jurisdictions.
Designed for use with standard grooved coupling systems on 6-inch main runs with a 4-inch branch outlet. Suitable for fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, industrial, mining, oil, and gas piping applications where grooved fittings are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or fire protection contractor in accordance with applicable NFPA, mechanical, and local authority-having-jurisdiction requirements. Depressurize and isolate the piping system fully before cutting in or repositioning any grooved fitting. Verify that pipe ends are properly grooved to the correct groove profile and width before seating the coupling gasket and housing. Inspect the painted finish for damage after handling and touch up any bare metal areas before concealing the fitting in a chase or ceiling.
