The ANVIL 390017424 is a FIG 7061 grooved reducing tee designed for use in grooved piping systems where a branch connection of a different size is required. This ductile iron fitting connects a 4-inch run to a 2-1/2-inch branch outlet, maintaining system integrity under pressure. The exterior is finished with a rust-inhibiting paint coating that protects the fitting during storage and service. It is domestically manufactured and installed by licensed pipefitters and mechanical contractors in commercial and industrial piping applications.
This grooved reducing tee is suited for fire protection, HVAC hydronic, and industrial piping systems that use grooved-end pipe and mechanical coupling assemblies. The 4 x 4 x 2-1/2 inch configuration makes it a standard choice for main distribution lines that transition to smaller branch runs. Grooved fittings allow for faster assembly and disassembly compared to threaded or flanged alternatives, which is a key factor in system maintenance and retrofit work.
Designed for use with standard grooved mechanical coupling systems on Schedule 10 and Schedule 40 ductile iron or steel pipe. Confirm coupling and pipe groove specifications match ANVIL FIG 7061 dimensional requirements before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or mechanical contractor in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Depressurize and drain the system before removing or installing any grooved fittings or couplings. Verify that pipe ends are cut square, deburred, and properly roll-grooved or cut-grooved to the correct profile before coupling assembly. Inspect the gasket and coupling housing for damage before torquing the coupling bolts to the coupling manufacturer's specification.
