The ANVIL 311523005 is a malleable iron reducing tee fitting designed for threaded pipe assemblies in industrial and commercial piping systems. Part of the FIG 1164R series, this fitting connects 1-1/4 inch run pipe with a 3/4 inch branch outlet using female national pipe taper (FNPT) threads on all three ports. It carries a 300 lb pressure class rating and a working pressure of 1500 psi, making it suitable for demanding fluid and gas distribution applications. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for use in wet or mildly corrosive environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically handle installation in mechanical rooms, process piping, and fire protection systems.
This reducing tee is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial piping installations where a branch takeoff of a smaller diameter is required from a main run. Typical applications include water supply lines, steam systems, compressed air distribution, and similar threaded pipe networks operating within the rated temperature range of -20 to 150 degrees F. The SCH 80/XS and SCH 80/XH schedule ratings indicate compatibility with heavier-wall pipe, supporting higher-pressure service conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded fitting compatible with 1-1/4 inch nominal Schedule 80 pipe on the run and 3/4 inch nominal Schedule 80 pipe on the branch outlet in standard FNPT threaded piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and IFGC or IPC requirements. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten FNPT connections, as malleable iron threads can crack under excessive torque.
