The ANVIL 0362061806 is a forged carbon steel socket weld coupling designed for high-pressure piping systems. It carries a Class 3000 pressure rating of 3000 psi, making it suitable for demanding industrial and commercial applications where joint integrity is critical. The black finish results from the forging process and is standard for this coupling class. This fitting is manufactured to ASME B16.11 and ASTM A105 specifications, ensuring dimensional accuracy and material traceability. Licensed pipefitters and mechanical contractors install this coupling in carbon steel pipe systems requiring a socket weld end connection.
This coupling is used in high-pressure steam, gas, and liquid piping systems found in commercial mechanical rooms, industrial process lines, and oil and gas facilities. Socket weld fittings of this class are common wherever flanged or threaded connections are not suitable and a permanent, high-integrity weld joint is required. The 2-1/2 inch size fits mid-range pipe runs where higher flow capacity is needed alongside full Class 3000 pressure capability.
Designed as an OEM-style socket weld fitting for 2-1/2 inch carbon steel pipe systems operating under Class 3000 pressure service per ASME B16.11.
Installation of socket weld couplings must be performed by a qualified pipefitter or welder in accordance with applicable mechanical codes such as ASME B31.1 or B31.3. Shut down and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting in or replacing any fitting. The pipe end must be fully inserted into the socket and then backed out slightly before welding per standard socket weld procedure. Do not apply pressure to the line until the weld has been inspected and allowed to cool fully.
