The ANDERSON METALS CORP 757002-0506 is a brass barb insert fitting designed to connect flexible hose to threaded pipe connections in plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-handling systems. It features a 5/16 inch hose inner diameter barb end that grips hose securely without clamps during insertion, paired with a 3/8 inch female pipe thread (FPT) end for connection to male-threaded pipe or valve ports. The fitting is manufactured from brass and is lead free compliant, meeting the requirements of Public Law 111-380. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting where flexible hose must terminate at a threaded port in potable water, hydronic, or mechanical systems.
This barb insert is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical applications where a barbed hose-to-pipe-thread transition is required. The 5/16 inch hose ID barb is compatible with standard flexible tubing of matching inner diameter. The 3/8 inch FPT connection mates with standard male NPT fittings. Its lead free construction makes it appropriate for use in potable water systems subject to state and federal lead content regulations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-use barb insert fitting for flexible hose and threaded pipe transitions in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC systems where a 5/16 inch hose ID barb and 3/8 inch FPT connection are specified.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before installing or replacing any fitting. Insert the barb fully into the hose and secure with an appropriate clamp where required by system pressure or applicable code. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before engaging the female pipe thread end, following IPC or local plumbing code requirements.
