The ANDERSON METALS CORP 756123-0804 is a brass hex reducing nipple designed to connect pipes of two different sizes in threaded plumbing and gas systems. Sized at 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch, it transitions from a larger female-threaded port down to a smaller male-threaded line. The hexagonal body allows a wrench to seat cleanly for controlled torque during installation. This fitting is lead free compliant and meets the requirements of Public Law 111-380, making it suitable for potable water applications. Plumbers and pipefitters reach for this type of fitting when reducing line size at a fixture, valve, or equipment connection point.
This hex reducing nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, and low-pressure gas distribution systems where a threaded size reduction is needed in a compact inline fitting. It installs wherever a 1/2 inch threaded port must step down to a 1/4 inch threaded connection, such as at gauges, valves, or appliance inlets. Sold in a bulk pack of 5 units, it suits service trucks and shop stock alike.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting for 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch NPT threaded connections in residential and commercial plumbing, hydronic, and low-pressure gas piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC or IFGC requirements for the service type. Shut off water supply or gas service and relieve system pressure completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten brass fittings, as the material can crack under excessive force.
