The ANDERSON METALS CORP 754055-10 is a 5/8-inch brass flare elbow designed for flare-to-flare connections in gas and refrigerant piping systems. Built from lead-free brass, it meets the requirements of Public Law 111-380, making it suitable for potable water and fuel gas applications where lead-free compliance is mandated. The 90-degree elbow configuration allows techs to change direction in a flare line without cutting and reflaring additional tubing. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and gas fitters use this fitting where rigid copper or soft tubing lines require a directional change at a flare joint.
This elbow is a standard bulk-packaged trade fitting used in residential and light commercial installations. Typical applications include natural gas supply lines, LP gas distribution, refrigerant line sets, and potable water copper tubing systems where flare connections are specified. The flare-x-flare configuration connects two flared tube ends directly, requiring no additional adapters at either port. It is sold in packages of 5 units.
Designed as a standard 5/8-inch flare fitting compatible with 5/8-inch OD flared copper tubing used in gas, refrigerant, and potable water piping systems where flare-type connections are required.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians following applicable codes such as the IFGC or IPC. Shut off the gas or water supply and depressurize the line before disassembling any flare fitting. Ensure both tube ends are properly flared to the correct angle before seating and tightening the flare nuts — cross-threading or undertightening are common causes of leaks at flare joints. Inspect the flare seats for damage before assembly and pressure-test the connection after completing the joint.
