The ANDERSON METALS CORP 738119-1204 is a lead-free brass reducing coupling designed to connect a 3/4 inch female pipe thread to a 1/4 inch female pipe thread in a single fitting. Constructed from rough brass, this coupling is compliant with Public Law 111-380, which sets lead content limits for fixtures and fittings used in potable water systems. It is a standard threaded coupling suited for plumbing rough-in and retrofit work where a reduction in pipe size is required at a threaded connection point. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in both residential and light commercial applications.
This reducing coupling is used wherever a threaded piping system requires a step-down from 3/4 inch to 1/4 inch female pipe thread. Typical applications include water supply lines, gas distribution systems, and compressed air piping where a transition between pipe sizes is needed at a fitting junction. The rough brass finish is standard for behind-wall and mechanical room installations where an exposed decorative finish is not required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit reducing coupling for threaded piping systems using 3/4 inch and 1/4 inch female pipe thread connections.
This fitting is installed by a licensed plumber using standard pipe wrenches and thread sealant tape or pipe dope rated for the applicable service. Shut off the water supply or isolate the gas or air line before removing any existing fittings. Apply thread sealant to the male threads being engaged, not the female threads of the coupling. Follow applicable IPC or IFGC requirements for the system type being serviced.
