The ANDERSON METALS CORP 738116-08 is a 1/2-inch rough brass 90-degree street elbow designed for use in potable water and general plumbing systems. This fitting changes flow direction by 90 degrees and features a street configuration, meaning one end is a male insertion end and the other is a standard female socket, allowing direct connection without an additional coupling. It is lead free compliant and meets Public Law 111-380, making it suitable for use in potable water applications where lead-free fittings are required by code. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit work on residential and light commercial water supply lines.
This street elbow is used in tight-space plumbing runs where a standard elbow and extra coupling would not fit. The street end inserts directly into another fitting socket, reducing the number of joints in the assembly. Typical applications include water supply rough-in, branch takeoffs, and rerouting runs behind walls or in mechanical chases. The fitting ships in bulk packs of 5 units, making it practical for service trucks and supply stock.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock fitting for 1/2-inch brass threaded plumbing systems in residential and light commercial water supply applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable edition of the International Plumbing Code. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before threading or soldering any fitting. Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on threaded connections and verify joint integrity before restoring pressure. Do not over-tighten brass threaded fittings, as the material is susceptible to cracking under excess torque.
