The ANDERSON METALS CORP 738110-1206 is a red brass hex bushing designed to reduce a 3/4-inch female thread to a 3/8-inch male thread. Red brass construction provides strong corrosion resistance in both potable water and general plumbing applications. The hex body allows for standard wrench installation without slipping. This bushing is lead free compliant and meets the requirements of Public Law 111-380, making it suitable for use in drinking water systems where lead-free materials are mandated. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
This hex bushing is used in applications where pipe or fitting sizes need to be stepped down within a threaded assembly. Typical install scenarios include connecting smaller-diameter branch lines to larger-diameter supply lines, adapting valves or gauges to existing pipe runs, and servicing older systems during retrofit work. It is suited for potable water, hydronic heating, and general-purpose piping where red brass fittings are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use hex bushing fitting for threaded pipe assemblies in residential and commercial plumbing systems requiring a 3/4-inch to 3/8-inch reduction.
This fitting is installed by a licensed plumber using standard pipe wrenches or hex wrenches. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning any threaded fitting work. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Follow applicable plumbing codes, including IPC requirements, for fitting material and lead-free compliance in potable water systems.
