The ANDERSON METALS CORP 736140-1208 is a brass face bushing used to reduce a 3/4-inch female fitting down to a 1/2-inch male thread. Face bushings seat flush against the fitting face, making them a compact threaded reducer for tight plumbing assemblies. This fitting is lead free compliant and meets the requirements of Public Law 111-380, making it suitable for potable water installations where lead-free materials are required. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of bushing in residential and light commercial water supply systems where space is limited and a standard hex bushing will not fit.
This face bushing is used in threaded pipe assemblies requiring a close, low-profile reduction from 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch connections. Typical applications include water supply lines, valve connections, fixture supply rough-in, and manifold installations. Its brass construction makes it suitable for hot and cold water service. The lead-free designation allows use in drinking water systems under current plumbing codes in the United States.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded fitting for use in standard NPT pipe systems requiring a 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch threaded reduction in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters working on threaded pipe systems. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or replacing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope rated for potable water service to the male threads before assembly. Hand-tighten first, then wrench-tighten to avoid over-torquing the brass threads. All potable water installations should comply with local plumbing codes and IPC standards.
