The ANDERSON METALS CORP 714049-1012 is a 90-degree elbow fitting that connects a 5/8-inch flare line to a 3/4-inch male iron pipe (MIP) thread. It is designed for use in gas supply and refrigerant piping applications where a direction change is required at a threaded appliance or valve connection. The fitting is lead-free compliant and meets the requirements of Public Law 111-380, making it suitable for installations subject to reduced lead content mandates. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting when transitioning from a flared tubing run to a standard iron pipe threaded port.
This elbow fitting is commonly used in residential and light commercial gas piping and refrigeration systems. Typical install scenarios include connecting flexible gas appliance connectors or copper refrigerant tubing to gas valves, appliance inlets, or manifold ports with 3/4-inch MIP connections. The 90-degree geometry allows routing in tight spaces where a straight fitting cannot make the transition. Each package contains 5 fittings sold as a unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard service fitting for gas and refrigerant piping systems requiring a 5/8-inch flare to 3/4-inch male iron pipe threaded elbow transition.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes, IFGC requirements, and the appliance manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply or isolate the refrigerant circuit completely before making any connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant rated for the service medium to the MIP threads only, keeping sealant clear of the flare seat. Tighten the flare nut to the fitting using two wrenches to avoid twisting the supply tubing, and leak-test all connections before returning the system to service.
