The ANDERSON METALS CORP 710066-0808 is a 1/2 inch compression by 1/2 inch female iron pipe (FIP) adapter designed to connect compression-style tubing to female-threaded iron pipe fittings. This lead-free fitting meets the requirements of Public Law 111-380, making it compliant for use in potable water systems. It is a standard transition fitting used in residential and light commercial plumbing installations where copper or polyethylene tubing meets threaded pipe runs. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this adapter during new construction, retrofit work, and repair service on water supply lines.
This adapter is suited for potable water supply applications in residential and light commercial settings. It works in situations where a compression tube connection must terminate into a female iron pipe threaded fitting, such as at shutoff valves, fixture supplies, or distribution manifolds. The fitting ships in a carded package of 10 units, making it practical for service trucks and supply stock. It is appropriate for use in cold and hot water supply lines where compression fittings are permitted by local code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for residential and light commercial plumbing systems requiring a transition from 1/2 inch compression tubing to 1/2 inch female iron pipe threads.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or removing any compression fitting. Ensure the tube end is cut cleanly and deburred before seating it into the compression fitting to achieve a proper seal. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as this can deform the ferrule and cause leaks.
