The ANDERSON METALS CORP 710066-0406 is a compression-to-female iron pipe adapter used to transition a 1/4 inch compression fitting connection to a 3/8 inch female iron pipe thread. This fitting is lead free compliant and meets the requirements of Public Law 111-380, making it suitable for potable water applications. It is a standard carded item sold in packages of 10 individual units. Plumbers and pipefitters install this adapter where a compression supply line must connect to a threaded female iron pipe port, a common task in residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in and fixture supply work.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where supply tubing terminates at a threaded port. Typical applications include under-sink connections, appliance supply lines, and fixture shut-off valve installations. The 1/4 inch compression inlet accepts standard soft copper or compatible tubing, while the 3/8 inch FIP outlet threads onto a male-threaded valve, manifold, or port. Its lead free designation makes it appropriate for any system conveying drinking water under current plumbing codes.
Designed as a standard compression-to-FIP transition fitting for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a 1/4 inch compression supply line connects to a 3/8 inch female iron pipe threaded port.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before installing. Hand-tighten the compression nut onto the tubing, then snug with a wrench — do not overtighten, as excessive force can deform the compression sleeve and cause leaks. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads mating into the FIP outlet before final assembly.
