The ANDERSON METALS CORP 700561-08 is a 1/2 inch brass compression insert designed to reinforce soft tubing in compression fittings. The insert slides inside flexible tubing to prevent collapse when a compression nut and ferrule are tightened, maintaining a leak-free seal. Constructed from lead-free brass in compliance with Public Law 111-380, this insert meets the federal lead-free standard required for potable water systems. Plumbers and pipefitters install these inserts during compression fitting assemblies on copper, PEX, or soft tubing connections in water supply lines.
This insert is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where 1/2 inch compression fittings are used. Typical installations include water supply stub-outs, fixture connections, and under-sink plumbing. The lead-free brass construction makes it appropriate for drinking water and potable hot and cold water distribution systems. It is sold in bulk packs of 10 units, making it practical for service plumbers and contractors stocking fittings for recurring repair and installation work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock insert for 1/2 inch compression fitting assemblies used in residential and commercial potable water plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before disassembling any compression fitting. Insert the fitting fully into the tubing end before seating the ferrule and tightening the compression nut — do not over-tighten, as this can deform the ferrule or tubing. Work must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC) where adopted.
