The ANDERSON METALS CORP 700060-06 is a 3/8-inch brass compression sleeve used to form leak-tight compression joints in copper and compatible tubing systems. The sleeve seats between the compression nut and fitting body, deforming slightly under torque to create a secure, pressure-rated seal without solder or adhesive. Constructed from lead-free brass in compliance with Public Law 111-380, this sleeve meets the requirements for use in potable water systems where lead-free materials are mandated. Plumbers and pipefitters install this component during new construction, retrofit, and repair work on residential and light commercial plumbing lines.
This compression sleeve is suited for 3/8-inch tubing connections in water supply, distribution, and shutoff applications. It is commonly used with compression-style shutoff valves, supply stops, and inline fittings where a tool-serviceable, no-solder joint is preferred. The lead-free construction makes it appropriate for drinking water, ice maker, and fixture supply lines. It is sold in bulk packs of 10 units, making it practical for service trucks and plumbing contractors who install multiple fittings per job.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement compression sleeve for standard 3/8-inch compression fittings used in residential and light commercial potable water plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before disassembling any compression fitting. Slide the sleeve onto the tubing before threading the compression nut, and ensure the tubing end is cut square and deburred for a proper seat. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as excessive torque can distort the sleeve and cause leaks rather than prevent them.
