Red brass offers higher copper content than standard yellow brass, making it more resistant to dezincification and corrosion in water service applications. This nipple is lead free compliant and meets California AB-1953 and Vermont SB-152 legislation requirements, making it suitable for use in potable water systems where lead-free materials are mandated. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting when connecting threaded pipe sections in both supply and distribution runs.
