Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly, and tighten to hand-snug plus the appropriate wrench turns — do not overtighten red brass fittings, as the material is softer than steel and threads can be damaged. Verify all joints for leaks after restoring system pressure.
