The ANDERSON METALS C8883402 is a brass countersunk pipe plug designed to seal threaded pipe openings in plumbing, HVAC, and general piping systems. The countersunk head profile sits flush or recessed when installed, making it well suited for applications where a raised plug head would interfere with adjoining components. Connections are male NPT on the outer thread and female NPT on the inner thread, allowing the plug to cap off a line while leaving an internal thread accessible for future connections. Brass construction provides reliable corrosion resistance in water, gas, and low-pressure fluid service.
This countersunk plug is used in residential and light commercial piping applications where a 3/4 inch NPT threaded port needs to be sealed. Common install scenarios include capping unused branch ports on pipe manifolds, sealing test ports after pressure checks, and closing off supply lines during system modifications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians typically install this fitting during new construction rough-in, system retrofit, or maintenance service calls.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard fitting for 3/4 inch NPT threaded pipe systems in plumbing, HVAC, and general industrial piping applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician. Shut off the water supply or isolate the gas line and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded pipe fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male NPT threads in accordance with IPC and IFGC guidelines for the service fluid. Do not over-tighten brass fittings, as excess force can crack the fitting body or damage mating threads.
