The ANDERSON METALS 757002-0808 is a low-lead brass hose barb fitting designed to connect flexible hose to female pipe thread ports. The barb end accepts 1/2 inch inside diameter hose, and the opposite end is a 1/2 inch female pipe thread (FPT). Constructed from brass with no more than 0.25% weighted average lead content on wetted surfaces, this fitting meets low-lead compliance requirements applicable to potable water and plumbing installations. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in residential and light commercial systems where a secure, leak-resistant transition between hose and threaded pipe connections is required.
This hose barb fitting is suited for potable water lines, irrigation systems, and general fluid transfer applications where a barb-to-female pipe thread connection is needed. The 1/2 inch ID barb accommodates standard 1/2 inch flexible hose, and the FPT end threads onto male-threaded pipe or fittings. It is sold in a minimum quantity of 5, individually flag tagged for easy identification at the job site or in inventory.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for 1/2 inch ID flexible hose applications requiring a female pipe thread transition in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before installing or replacing any hose barb fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male pipe threads before threading on the FPT end. Secure the hose to the barb with an appropriately rated hose clamp to ensure a leak-free connection.
