The ANDERSON METALS 754048-1008 is a lead-free brass flared tube connector designed for use in pressurized fluid and gas piping systems. It transitions a 5/8 inch OD flared tube to a 1/2 inch male NPT threaded fitting using a standard 45-degree flare seat. The lead-free brass construction meets potable water compliance requirements. This connector is a common component in plumbing, HVAC refrigerant lines, propane and natural gas distribution, and compressed air systems. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers. The fitting is rated for up to 650 psi working pressure, both static and dynamic, making it suitable for a wide range of service pressures encountered in residential and light commercial applications.
This connector is used where a flared copper or compatible tubing run must terminate into a threaded port on a valve, manifold, appliance, or fixture. The flare x MNPT configuration allows direct connection to female NPT ports without additional adapters. Typical installations include gas appliance connections, refrigeration line sets, hydronic heating circuits, and potable water supply runs where lead-free materials are required by code. It is sold individually and suited for single-point repairs as well as new construction rough-in work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 5/8 inch OD flared tubing with 1/2 inch female NPT ports, including gas, refrigerant, and potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Plumbing Code, or the International Fuel Gas Code as appropriate. Shut off all supply pressure and depressurize the line before disassembly or connection. Apply thread sealant approved for the intended service medium to the NPT threads; do not apply sealant to the flare seat. Ensure the tube end is properly flared with a calibrated 45-degree flaring tool before tightening to avoid seat damage or leaks.
