The ANDERSON METALS 754048-0604 is a lead-free brass flared tube connector designed for use in pressurized fluid and gas piping systems. It transitions a 3/8 inch OD flared tube to a 1/4 inch male NPT threaded fitting using a 45-degree flare seat. The lead-free brass construction meets safe drinking water standards, making it suitable for potable water, refrigeration, natural gas, and compressed air lines. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this fitting when connecting soft copper or aluminum tubing to a threaded port on equipment, valves, or manifolds. The connector is rated to 1000 psi working pressure for both static and dynamic service.
This connector is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant piping, and gas service applications where a flare-to-male-NPT transition is required. It is well suited for connecting refrigeration lines to service valves, joining copper tubing to gas appliance inlet threads, and similar low- to medium-pressure fluid handling installations. The compact body fits in tight equipment spaces and mates directly to any standard NPT-threaded port sized at 1/4 inch.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for systems using 3/8 inch OD flared tubing connected to 1/4 inch NPT threaded ports, including residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and gas piping assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, IPC, and IFGC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any flare fitting. Hand-tighten the flare nut onto the fitting seat before applying a wrench to avoid cross-threading; apply thread sealant rated for the service type to the NPT threads only, not to the flare seat. Inspect the tube flare for cracks or deformation before assembly, as a damaged flare will not seat properly and may cause leaks.
