The ANDERSON METALS 754048-0504 is a lead-free brass flared tube connector designed for use in pressurized fluid and gas line applications. It features a 45-degree flare on one end and a male NPT (MNPT) thread on the other, creating a reliable Flare x MNPT transition fitting. With a 5/16-inch tube OD on the flare end and a 1/4-inch NPT thread, this connector is rated for up to 1000 psi working pressure in both dynamic and static service conditions. Plumbers and HVAC technicians use this fitting to join flared copper or compatible tubing to threaded pipe or equipment ports.
This connector is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, refrigeration, and HVAC applications where a flared tube must transition to a male NPT threaded connection. It is commonly installed in refrigerant lines, fuel gas distribution, compressed air systems, and other pressurized service lines where lead-free brass construction is required by code. The compact, single-piece body keeps installation straightforward in tight spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems requiring a 5/16-inch OD flare to 1/4-inch MNPT connection in lead-free brass construction.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off system pressure and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any fitting. Hand-tighten the flare nut onto the 45-degree seat, then apply wrench torque carefully to avoid distorting the flare seat or cross-threading the NPT connection. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads in accordance with applicable plumbing and mechanical codes before final assembly.
