The ANDERSON METALS 754018-04 is a lead-free brass flared tube nut designed for use with 1/4-inch outer diameter tubing and a 45-degree flare connection. This fitting nut threads onto a mating flare fitting body to create a secure, pressure-rated mechanical joint without the need for solder or adhesive. It is a standard component in refrigeration, HVAC, and plumbing line sets where flare connections are required. The lead-free brass construction meets potable water contact requirements. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and gas line installers use this type of fitting nut during new installations and service work.
This tube nut is suited for residential and light commercial applications involving copper or compatible soft-alloy tubing. Typical uses include refrigerant line connections, gas supply lines, and water supply tubing where a 45-degree flare joint is specified. The 1/4-inch tube OD size is common in refrigeration service ports, pilot gas lines, and instrument tubing runs. With a maximum working pressure rating of 1400 psi for both static and dynamic conditions, it is appropriate for a wide range of low- and medium-pressure service environments.
Designed as a standard 45-degree flare tube nut for use with 1/4-inch OD copper or compatible soft-alloy tubing and matching flare fitting bodies. Verify thread size and flare angle of the mating fitting before installation.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians depending on the application. Before servicing any line, relieve system pressure and shut off the upstream supply valve. Use a proper flaring tool to create a clean, uniform 45-degree flare on the tubing end before threading the nut — a damaged or uneven flare is the primary cause of joint leaks. Tighten the nut to snug plus a measured flat turn as guided by the flare fitting manufacturer; do not over-tighten, as this can crack or deform the flare seat.
