The ANDERSON METALS 736113-0632 is a close-pattern brass pipe nipple threaded on both ends, designed for joining threaded pipe fittings in low- to medium-pressure plumbing systems. It measures 2 inches overall length and is machined from red brass with NPT threads on each end. The lead-free construction meets current potable water and plumbing code requirements. Plumbers and pipefitters install this nipple as a short connector between valves, fittings, or fixtures where a tight, corrosion-resistant connection is needed. Its compact length makes it well suited for confined installation spaces where longer nipples will not fit.
This nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing applications including water supply lines, gas service connections where brass is permitted, and hydronic heating piping. It functions as a direct coupling between two female-threaded ports. The all-thread design across its 2-inch body allows full engagement on both ends without a center unthreaded section. It is typically installed by a licensed plumber in systems requiring a leak-free, code-compliant threaded joint.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock nipple compatible with any NPT-threaded female fitting or port of the matching pipe size in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable International Plumbing Code or local authority having jurisdiction. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before assembly; do not overtighten, as red brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque. Verify compatibility of the nipple material with the fluid being conveyed before installing in gas or chemical service.
