The ANDERSON METALS 11118 is a brass pipe union designed for joining and disconnecting 1/8-inch threaded pipe runs in low-pressure plumbing and gas piping systems. The union features female NPT (FNPT) connections on both ends, allowing a threaded pipe to be disconnected without rotating either pipe section. Constructed from brass, this fitting resists corrosion and holds up in both wet and dry service environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this fitting where future serviceability is required along a pipe run.
This union is suited for residential and light commercial applications involving 1/8-inch pipe. Common install scenarios include instrument lines, low-pressure gas pilot lines, and small-diameter water or air supply runs where a break union is needed for maintenance access. The compact size makes it practical in tight mechanical spaces where full pipe rotation is not possible.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/8-inch NPT threaded pipe systems in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and low-pressure gas piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system fully before disassembling or installing the union. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads mating to this fitting. Do not overtighten threaded connections in brass fittings, as brass is softer than iron and susceptible to thread damage under excessive torque.
