The ANDERSON METALS -11099-10 is a red brass pipe nipple threaded on both ends, designed for connecting sections of pipe in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping systems. Constructed from red brass, this nipple offers reliable corrosion resistance in both water and steam service applications. It features NPT threads on each end and measures 4 inches overall length (OAL), making it suited for close or run-of-pipe configurations. Plumbers and pipefitters install these nipples when extending, offsetting, or completing threaded pipe assemblies in a wide range of wet and dry service environments.
This nipple is appropriate for use in residential and light commercial plumbing systems, hydronic heating lines, compressed air distribution, and general fluid transfer piping. Red brass construction makes it a common choice in applications where dezincification resistance is required, such as potable water systems and recirculating hot water loops. It is typically installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters as part of a threaded pipe assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for NPT-threaded pipe systems using red brass or compatible fittings in plumbing, hydronic, and general fluid transfer applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid supply before removing or installing threaded pipe nipples. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as red brass fittings can be damaged by excessive force.
