The AMTROL 747 is a high-capacity, float-type automatic air elimination vent designed for commercial hydronic and closed-loop piping systems. It automatically purges air from the system as it accumulates, protecting pumps, boilers, and piping from air-related flow restrictions and noise. The serviceable design allows the internal components to be accessed and replaced without removing the unit from the line. With 3/4 inch inlet and outlet connections and a body diameter of 4 inches, the 747 is built for demanding commercial installations where reliable air removal is critical to system performance.
The AMTROL 747 is suited for commercial hydronic heating and cooling systems where air accumulation is a persistent operational concern. Typical installations include boiler rooms, chiller plants, and large closed-loop water distribution systems. The float-type mechanism responds automatically to air pockets as they rise through the system, venting them without manual intervention. Licensed plumbing and HVAC mechanical contractors are the primary installers of this type of air elimination equipment.
Designed for use in commercial hydronic piping systems with 3/4 inch threaded connections requiring automatic air elimination.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or mechanical contractor familiar with closed-loop hydronic systems. Shut down the system and relieve pressure before installing or servicing this vent. The unit should be installed at a high point in the piping where air naturally accumulates. Consult applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code for pressure rating and installation requirements.
