The AMTROL 399565 is a pre-pressurized vertical in-line diaphragm well tank designed for residential well water systems. Rated at 150 PSIG working pressure with a factory precharge of 38 PSIG, it maintains consistent system pressure between pump cycles and reduces pump short-cycling. The tank features a heavy-duty butyl diaphragm locked to a high-strength steel shell using a hoop ring and groove design. An antimicrobial inner liner neutralizes bacteria on contact, and the patented Turbulator water circulator promotes fresh water circulation throughout the tank. Licensed plumbers and well system contractors install this unit as part of pressure tank assemblies in residential potable water systems.
The 399565 is built for residential well water pressure systems where a compact, in-line vertical tank is needed. With a 7.6 gallon total capacity, it suits smaller household well systems or supplemental installations where space is limited. The 3/4 inch male threaded inlet and outlet allow direct in-line installation without additional fittings in most standard configurations. The included DuraBase composite tank stand provides a stable mounting footprint. This tank meets NSF/ANSI 61 requirements for contact with potable water, making it appropriate for drinking water applications.
Designed as an OEM-style pre-pressurized diaphragm replacement or new-installation tank for residential well water pressure systems requiring a vertical in-line configuration with 3/4 inch male threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified well system contractor in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the well pump and relieve all system pressure before disconnecting existing tanks or making any threaded connections. Verify and adjust the precharge pressure with a tire gauge at the air valve before charging the system with water, ensuring precharge is set 2 PSIG below the pump cut-in pressure. Do not exceed the maximum relief valve setting of 125 PSIG during system commissioning.
