The AMTROL 399559 is a 4.4-gallon vertical in-line diaphragm well tank designed for residential well water pressure systems. It operates at a 150 PSIG working pressure with a factory precharge of 38 PSIG, making it ready for immediate installation in standard well pump circuits. The tank uses a heavy-duty butyl diaphragm sealed with a hoop-ring-and-groove locking design that keeps the diaphragm, liner, and shell positively locked together. The interior is lined with an antimicrobial liner rated to 200 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and well system contractors are the typical installers for this type of pressurized well tank.
The 399559 is sized for residential well water applications where a compact in-line tank is needed to maintain system pressure, reduce pump short-cycling, and protect the pump motor. Its vertical in-line orientation and 3/4-inch male-threaded inlet and outlet connections allow direct installation into existing well supply lines without additional fittings in most standard residential configurations. The DuraBase composite tank stand provides a stable footprint during installation. The included Fresh Water Turbulator promotes full water circulation inside the tank, reducing stagnation.
Designed for residential well water pressure systems requiring a compact 4.4-gallon vertical in-line diaphragm tank with 3/4-inch male-threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or well system contractor in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and lock out the well pump and relieve all system pressure before disconnecting any plumbing connections. Verify the precharge pressure with a standard tire gauge at the Schrader valve before bringing the system back online, and adjust to match the cut-in pressure of the pressure switch if needed. Do not exceed the maximum relief valve setting of 125 PSIG.
