The AMRAD nsi-n-4 is a solderless split bolt connector rated for 4 AWG copper conductors. Built from high-copper alloy, it delivers a strong mechanical connection without soldering, making it a dependable choice for splicing copper and copperweld wires in service entrance and branch circuit applications. The two-wire configuration accommodates two conductors simultaneously, which suits tap and splice work where a secure, low-resistance joint is required. Licensed electricians and utility service techs are the primary installers for this type of connector.
The nsi-n-4 is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work where copper-to-copper or copper-to-copperweld connections must be made in conduit bodies, junction boxes, service entrance enclosures, or overhead splice applications. Its molded and machined construction holds up in environments where vibration or mechanical stress could loosen inferior connectors. The connector accepts up to two conductors at the maximum wire size rating for the 4 AWG range.
Designed as a standard solderless split bolt connector for 4 AWG copper and copperweld conductors in residential and light commercial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any connections. Tighten the bolt to firm mechanical contact using an appropriately sized wrench — do not overtighten to the point of deforming the conductor. Tape or insulate the completed connection per local code requirements.
