The AMPHENOL RF 031-321 is a BNC straight crimp plug rated at 50 ohms, designed for terminating RG-59 and RG-62 coaxial cable. The crimp-style construction creates a secure, low-resistance mechanical and electrical connection at the cable end. BNC connectors use a quarter-turn bayonet locking mechanism, making them fast to connect and disconnect in field applications. This plug is a standard component in signal distribution, video, and instrumentation wiring. Electricians, low-voltage technicians, and AV integrators install this type of connector when building or repairing coaxial cable assemblies.
The 031-321 is suited for residential and commercial installations where RG-59 or RG-62 coaxial cable is routed to equipment requiring a 50-ohm BNC interface. Typical applications include CCTV and surveillance camera wiring, instrumentation signal lines, and data acquisition systems. The straight-body configuration allows direct in-line termination without additional adapters. It is sold and installed as a single unit.
Designed for use with RG-59 and RG-62 coaxial cable. Suitable as a field-termination or bench-assembly connector for 50-ohm BNC-interface equipment.
Installation is performed by low-voltage technicians or electricians using a calibrated coaxial crimp tool sized for the cable and connector type. Strip the cable to the manufacturer-specified dimensions before seating the center pin and outer ferrule. Do not over-crimp, as this can deform the center contact and degrade signal integrity. Follow applicable low-voltage wiring codes and the equipment manufacturer's guidelines for connector torque and bend radius.
