The AMG SYSTEMS SFP-SM-1G-ZX80-55 is a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver module rated at 1 Gbps over single-mode fiber. Operating at a 1550nm wavelength, it supports link distances up to 80 kilometers, placing it in the ZX classification for long-reach fiber optic connections. The module uses a standard duplex fiber interface with two fibers. Network technicians and systems integrators install this type of transceiver in managed switches, routers, and media converters that accept SFP slots. It is a direct-plug solution for extending Gigabit Ethernet over long-haul single-mode fiber runs in enterprise and industrial network infrastructure.
This transceiver is suited for long-distance fiber backbone links in enterprise, campus, and industrial network environments. Typical applications include point-to-point Gigabit Ethernet connections where spans exceed what short-reach or long-reach SFPs can support. It is commonly installed in data centers, utility networks, and multi-site enterprise deployments where single-mode fiber plant is already in place and 80-kilometer reach is required. The unit ships as an individual module (sold each).
Designed as an OEM-style SFP transceiver for use in managed switches, routers, and enterprise media converters equipped with standard SFP slots supporting 1 Gbps single-mode operation.
Installation is performed by qualified network technicians. Power down or disable the SFP host port before inserting or removing the transceiver to avoid potential damage to the module or host equipment. Clean fiber end-faces before mating connectors, as contamination is a leading cause of link failure on long-reach optics. Verify that the connected fiber plant is single-mode and that the far-end transceiver wavelength and fiber type match before commissioning the link.
