The AMERICAN LOCK A5101 is a steel-body padlock designed for general security applications in commercial and industrial environments. The rectangular body measures 1-1/2 inches wide and 3/4 inches thick, finished in chrome-plating for corrosion resistance. The boron alloy shackle measures 1/4 inch in diameter, 3/4 inch in width, and 1-1/2 inches in height, providing a solid barrier against cutting and prying. A 5-pin tumbler cylinder delivers dependable pick resistance. Keyed different means each unit ships with its own unique key set, making this padlock well suited for applications where individual lock-and-key accountability is required. Locksmiths, facility maintenance staff, and security contractors are the typical installers.
The A5101 fits standard hasp, chain, and gate latch applications across warehouses, equipment enclosures, storage units, and utility panels. The compact 1-1/2 inch body width works with most standard hasp staple openings. The chrome-plated steel body holds up in covered or semi-exposed environments. This padlock is sold individually, keyed different from other units in the same purchase, making it appropriate for multi-point access control setups where separate key control per lock is the goal.

Installation requires no special tools beyond proper hasp or anchor hardware already in place. De-energize or lock out any electrically controlled access point before servicing associated hardware per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect the hasp staple opening to confirm the 3/4 inch shackle width and 1/4 inch shackle diameter are compatible before installation. Do not force the shackle into undersized staple openings, as this can damage the locking mechanism.
