Product Description

The AMANA DHP093J50BA is a packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) with an integrated heat pump and electric backup heat strip, designed for through-the-wall installation in residential and commercial spaces such as hotels, apartments, and assisted living facilities. Operating on 208/230 volt, 30 amp power, the unit delivers 9,200 to 9,300 BTU/h of cooling at an EER of 11.4 and 7,900 to 8,100 BTU/h of heat pump heating. A 5.0 kW electric backup heat strip provides up to 15,000 BTU/h when the heat pump alone cannot meet the load. R32 refrigerant reduces Global Warming Potential compared to R410A. Licensed HVAC technicians perform this installation.

The DHP093J50BA fits a standard 42-inch PTAC sleeve and is suited for single-room climate control in hotels, motels, and multi-family residential buildings. Three fan speeds plus a fan-only mode give occupants flexibility. The unit supports control directly from the front panel or via a wired wall thermostat. Front Desk Control configuration allows temperature limiting for hospitality applications, restricting the minimum and maximum setpoints while still allowing guest adjustment. Automatic Emergency Heat switches to electric resistance heat if the heat pump compressor fails or if heating demand exceeds heat pump capacity. This replaces the DHP093A50AA, which used R410A refrigerant.

Sleeve and rear grille are not included and must be ordered separately. Directly replaces the DHP093A50AA R410A unit.

Installation Notes

Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Verify the dedicated 30 amp, 208/230 volt circuit is de-energized before handling any electrical connections. A sleeve and rear grille are required for new installations and are not supplied with the unit. Do not operate the unit without a properly sized sleeve, as this affects both performance and structural integrity of the wall opening.
