Product Description

The AMANA DHP074J35BA is a 42-inch packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) with an integrated heat pump and electric backup heat strip, designed for commercial applications where 265/277-volt building service is available. It delivers 7,200 BTU/h of cooling at an EER of 11.9 and 6,000 BTU/h of heat pump heating capacity, backed by a 3.5 kW electric heat strip rated at approximately 10,900 BTU/h of supplemental heat. The unit uses R32 refrigerant, which carries a lower global warming potential than R410A. A 20-amp power cord is included. Installation requires a separate PTAC sleeve and rear grille, neither of which is included with the unit.

This unit is rated for commercial use only and requires a building wired for 265/277-volt service. It is not suitable for residential applications. Typical installations include hotels, motels, assisted living facilities, and other multi-room commercial buildings where individual zone control is required. The unit fits a standard 42-inch PTAC sleeve with interior dimensions of 42 inches wide by 16-1/16 inches high by 14-1/8 inches deep. Wall cut-out dimensions are 42-1/4 inches wide by 16-1/4 inches high. Multi-unit installations are common in this product class.

Installation Notes

Power down the circuit and verify zero voltage at the receptacle before inserting or removing the chassis. A PTAC sleeve sized for 42-inch units and a compatible rear grille must be installed in the wall opening prior to chassis installation.
