The ALTECH 3g30um is a DLS8 series manual motor controller listed under UL508 and suitable for use as a motor disconnect. It provides thermal magnetic protection with a current range of 0.3 to 60 amps at 480Y/277 volts AC, 50/60 Hz. DIN rail mounted with a compact 17.5 mm width per pole, this controller is built for panel installations where space efficiency matters. It carries a 10 kA short circuit withstand capacity, making it appropriate for industrial and commercial power distribution panels. Licensed electricians and panel builders are the primary installers for this type of device.
The 3g30um is rated for multiple AC application categories including AC motor starting, across-the-line starting, AC general use, AC resistance loads, AC discharge lamps with ballast, and AC incandescent lamp loads. It is also DC rated: in the 0.3 to 25A range, single-pole units are rated at 42 volts DC and two-pole units at 80 volts DC. In the 30 to 60A range, single-pole units are rated at 24 volts DC and two-pole units at 60 volts DC. This broad application coverage makes it a versatile choice for motor branch circuit protection in industrial panels and machine control enclosures.
Designed as a DLS8 series UL508 listed manual motor controller suitable for AC motor starting, across-the-line motor applications, AC general use loads, AC resistance loads, AC discharge lamp (ballast) loads, and AC incandescent (tungsten) lamp loads in DIN rail panel assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the panel and verify zero voltage before mounting or wiring this device. Secure the unit to a standard DIN rail and confirm all conductor terminations are properly seated before re-energizing. Verify the load current falls within the selected current setting range before placing the controller in service.
