The ALLIED TUBE CONDUIT PV1000LB38 is a Form 8 LB configuration conduit body designed for use with 1-inch rigid conduit systems in corrosive and wet environments. It features a 0.002-inch urethane-coated interior and a 0.04-inch PVC-coated exterior over cast iron construction, providing layered corrosion resistance rated to NEMA 4X. The back access opening and 90-degree hub orientation make it suitable for directional changes in conduit runs. Licensed electricians install this fitting wherever code requires a pull point or direction change in a conduit system exposed to moisture, chemicals, or washdown conditions.
The PV1000LB38 is intended for use with 1-inch PVC-coated galvanized rigid conduit in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure installations where NEMA 4X enclosure ratings are required. Typical applications include wastewater treatment facilities, food processing plants, chemical processing environments, marine installations, and outdoor electrical runs subject to heavy moisture exposure. The LB configuration allows a 90-degree turn with rear-access cover removal for wire pulling. The unit ships with a PVC-coated cast iron cover and a plastic-encapsulated stainless steel screw.
Designed for use with 1-inch PVC-coated galvanized rigid conduit systems. Suitable as an OEM-style fitting for conduit installations requiring NEMA 4X-rated LB conduit bodies at 90-degree direction changes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and lock out power before opening or installing conduit bodies in an existing system. Apply appropriate PVC-compatible conduit cement or thread sealant only as approved for coated rigid conduit systems to avoid damaging the protective coating. Do not use pipe wrenches or tools directly on the PVC-coated exterior without protective measures, as damage to the coating will compromise the corrosion resistance of the fitting.
