The cutting diameter measures 0.18 inches with a 0.187-inch shank diameter, and the tool runs 28 teeth per inch. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.5-inch length of cut, it suits a wide range of standard workpiece depths encountered in production and job-shop environments.
This thread mill is intended for use in CNC machining operations where thread milling is preferred over tapping — particularly in hard materials, blind holes, or applications requiring tight thread tolerances. The helical interpolation method allows a single tool to produce the full thread profile by following a programmed helical path. Tool setup and operation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling programmer. Secure the shank in a precision collet or end mill holder rated for the 0.187-inch shank diameter and verify runout before cutting. Program the machine for helical interpolation — do not use this tool in a conventional drilling or tapping cycle. Apply flood or mist coolant externally; this tool does not support coolant-through delivery.
