The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING OP-060408-PWHR is a solid carbide indexable drill insert designed for use in OP06-style indexable drill bodies. Built to the AM300 manufacturer grade, this insert features a triangular shape with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 0.192-inch thickness, and a 0.031-inch corner radius. The PVD coating process delivers a hard, wear-resistant surface finish suited for demanding cutting environments. Material grade C5 identifies it as appropriate for a broad range of metalcutting operations. This insert is typically installed by machinists and toolroom technicians performing precision drilling on CNC machining centers or manual drill presses.
This insert is rated for primary workpiece materials including non-ferrous metals and steel, covering material codes N and P. It fits standard OP06 insert pockets in Allied Machine compatible indexable drill systems. The triangular geometry and corner radius are suited for applications requiring clean entry and consistent hole quality in production or job-shop environments. Manufactured to ISO 9001:2015 quality standards, this insert is appropriate for both general-purpose and production drilling applications where insert changeover speed and consistent geometry are important.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for Allied Machine and Engineering OP06-style indexable drill bodies accepting triangular carbide inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle powered down and the machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the drill body manufacturer to seat the insert firmly in the pocket without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket for debris, wear, or damage before seating a new insert. Follow the drill body manufacturer guidelines for torque and clamping procedure.
