The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING TM14BSPP is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal and external BSPP threads in a single helical pass. It runs 4 right-hand flutes at 14 teeth per inch (TPI) with a cutting diameter of 0.4700 inches and a length of cut of 1.1430 inches. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance for dry or minimal-lubrication machining environments. With a 0.5000-inch minimum nominal diameter and an overall length of 3.5000 inches, this tool fits standard 1/2-inch shank toolholders on CNC machining centers. This thread mill is suited for shops producing BSPP-threaded ports and fittings in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) threads are common in hydraulic and pneumatic manifolds, fluid-power components, and instrumentation fittings. The helical flute geometry enables interpolation on 3-axis CNC machining centers, allowing a single tool to produce a range of thread diameters. It is appropriate for both prototype and production runs requiring consistent thread form in through and blind holes.

This tool is installed and operated by CNC machinists or tooling technicians on 3-axis or higher machining centers capable of helical interpolation cycles. Confirm correct toolholder runout and shank clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification before running. Program the interpolation path to match the BSPP thread pitch and nominal diameter; verify thread form with a go/no-go gauge after the first part. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so confirm chip evacuation strategy before running deep blind holes.
