The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING HTA0A05-075F is an indexable spade drill designed for high-performance hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built to T-A Pro Series standards, this tool features a 1/2 inch minimum drill diameter, a straight flute geometry, and through-coolant capability via axial concentric entry. The flatted shank measures 3/4 inch in diameter and seats into compatible tool holders for secure, repeatable positioning. With a 6.3 inch overall length and a body length of 4.27 inches, this drill is suited for standard-depth applications where dimensional accuracy and chip evacuation are critical. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working in production environments are the primary users.
This spade drill is rated for universal primary workpiece materials, covering steel, stainless, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials as indicated by material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H. It fits standard-depth drilling applications with a drill depth by diameter ratio of 5xD and a maximum drill depth of 3.015 inches. The T-A Pro Series is a modular indexable platform, meaning the drill body accepts interchangeable inserts rather than requiring full tool replacement. This makes it a common choice in job shops and production facilities running high-volume drilling cycles on CNC lathes, machining centers, and drilling machines.
Designed for use with Allied Machine and Engineering T-A Pro Series 0 tooling systems. Compatible with holders and inserts within the T-A Pro 0 Series platform. Maximum drill diameter with appropriate insert is 0.695 inches. Consult Allied Machine tooling charts to confirm insert and holder selection for the target bore diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with indexable drilling systems. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify that through-coolant pressure and flow rate meet Allied Machine recommendations for the T-A Pro Series before running the tool. Follow the machine builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool stick-out and runout.
