This insert is intended for drilling steel and hard materials in industrial and production machining settings. The AM300 coating and C1 material grade are selected specifically for ferrous workpiece materials and hard stock. Installation and change-out should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and all spindle motion fully stopped before handling the insert. Use the correct torque wrench and seating tools specified for the GEN3SYS XT holder to avoid damaging the carbide insert or the seat. Inspect the holder seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert, as contamination will affect runout and hole quality. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and Allied Machine tooling guidelines for recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
