The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 7C111P-11.5 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in steel and hard materials. Part of the GEN3SYS XT series, this insert features an AM300 PVD coating and a 140-degree point angle, making it well suited for demanding production drilling applications. With a 11.5 mm (29/64 inch) cutting diameter and a Seat Size 11 designation, it mounts into compatible GEN3SYS XT spade drill holders. The insert carries a C1 (K35) manufacturer grade, indicating a fine-grain carbide substrate optimized for toughness and wear resistance in ferrous and hard workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turning centers where spade drilling of steel and hard materials is required. The GEN3SYS XT series is designed for production environments that demand consistent hole quality and extended tool life in ferrous workpiece materials. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in carbon steel, alloy steel, and similarly classified hard materials. The insert measures 0.28 inches in height and is packaged individually for single-unit replacement or tooling inventory management.
Designed for use with GEN3SYS XT series spade drill holders accepting a Seat Size 11 insert. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes steel (P) and hard material (H) classifications per the input specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the holder manufacturer torque and seating guidelines for the GEN3SYS XT series. Always ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the drill insert. Inspect the seat pocket for chips or damage before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and alignment. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines during setup.
