The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 60318S-100F is an indexable spade drill designed for precision hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. Part of the GEN3SYS 18 series, it accepts spade drill inserts and operates with through-coolant delivery via a 1/8 inch NPT axial concentric coolant entry port. The tool body is constructed from steel and features a straight flute geometry with a 1 inch flatted cylindrical shank. It covers a drilling diameter range of 0.7087 to 0.7873 inches (18.00 to 19.99 mm) at a standard 3xD depth-to-diameter ratio. This drill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
The 60318S-100F is suited for general-purpose drilling applications across universal workpiece material categories including cast iron, steel, non-ferrous metals, and non-metallic materials (material codes K, M, N, P). Its standard-length body and straight flute design make it appropriate for vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, and CNC lathes with through-spindle coolant capability. The 3xD depth rating supports common through-hole and blind-hole operations in both production runs and low-volume precision work.
Designed for use with the ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING GEN3SYS 18 series indexable spade drill insert system. Primary workpiece material compatibility covers universal categories: cast iron (K), stainless and heat-resistant alloys (M), non-ferrous metals (N), and carbon and alloy steels (P).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle and coolant supply are fully de-energized and depressurized before mounting or changing inserts. Verify that the machine tool holder and spindle interface are clean and within tolerance before seating the flatted shank. Confirm through-coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the 1/8 inch NPT coolant entry before initiating a cut.
