The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 4C20P-.515 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. Sized at 33/64 inch diameter with a Seat Size 0 and a 132-degree point angle, this insert fits into compatible T-A style spade drill holders to produce accurate, clean bores. The insert is manufactured from C2 (K20) grade carbide and carries an AM300 PVD coating, which extends tool life and improves chip evacuation when working through difficult materials. It measures 1.5 inches in length, 1.5 inches in width, and 0.38 inches in height, and weighs approximately 0.1 pounds. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers.
This insert is intended for use in production and job-shop environments where materials such as stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super-alloys including titanium are regularly machined. The GEN2 T-A series platform is engineered for indexable spade drilling operations on CNC machining centers, lathes with live tooling, and dedicated drill presses. The AM300 coating is specifically selected for its thermal stability and wear resistance when cutting these challenging workpiece materials at elevated speeds and feeds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for GEN2 T-A series spade drill holder systems accepting a Seat Size 0, 33/64 inch diameter insert.
Insert seating and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified insert screws when securing the insert in the holder body — do not substitute fasteners. Inspect the seat pocket for chips or damage before installing a new insert, as debris on the seating surface can cause insert rocking and premature failure. Follow your facility safety plan and applicable OSHA machine-guarding requirements when servicing cutting tools.
