The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 4C20P-13 is a solid carbide spade drill insert engineered for high-performance drilling applications in demanding materials. Part of the GEN2 T-A series, this insert measures 13 mm in diameter and seats at Size 0. It is manufactured from solid carbide to Manufacturer Grade C2 (K20) and finished with an AM300 PVD coating. The AM300 coating extends tool life when drilling stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, super-alloys, and titanium. Machinists and toolroom professionals working in production or job-shop environments specify this insert for its combination of substrate hardness and coating performance across a wide range of workpiece materials.
The 4C20P-13 is suited for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses where the GEN2 T-A spade drill system is in use. Its 132-degree point angle makes it appropriate for general-purpose drilling as well as entry into harder and more abrasive workpiece materials including stainless steel and super-alloys such as titanium. The insert installs into a compatible GEN2 T-A Seat Size 0 holder. Typical applications include drilling operations in aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing environments where consistent hole geometry and extended insert life are required.
Designed for use with ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING GEN2 T-A spade drill holders accepting a Seat Size 0 insert. Verify holder series and seat size before installation to confirm fitment.
Installation of spade drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before removing or installing any insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified insert screws when securing the insert to the holder — do not overtighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the holder pocket and seating surfaces for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
