The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 4C1ZP-12.5-HE is a solid carbide spade drill insert engineered for precision hole-making in steel and hard materials. It carries a 12.5 mm cutting diameter and seats in a Seat Size Z holder, fitting within the GEN2 T-A modular drilling system. The insert features an AM300 PVD coating applied over a C1 (K35) carbide substrate, which improves edge hardness and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. At 0.094 inches thick and just 0.01 pounds, it is a compact, single-edge cutting tool intended for industrial machining environments. Installation and operation are performed by CNC machinists and tool-room technicians in manufacturing and job-shop settings.
This insert is designed for drilling operations into steel and hard material workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P and H. The GEN2 T-A system it belongs to is a modular spade drilling platform commonly found on CNC lathes, machining centers, and drill presses running production or high-volume hole-making cycles. Seat Size Z defines the mechanical interface between the insert and its matching holder body. This part is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 2 units per transaction.
Designed for use with GEN2 T-A series spade drill holder bodies accepting a Seat Size Z insert. Suitable for primary workpiece materials classified as steel (ISO code P) and hard materials (ISO code H).
Insert replacement is performed by CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is secured or removed from the machine before changing inserts. Clean the insert pocket and seating surface before installing the new insert to ensure proper seating and runout control. Follow the holder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the GEN2 T-A seat size Z pocket.
